Senior Backend Software Engineer (Laravel & .NET Core)

About the role

iDoc is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join its Amman team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that power iDoc’s AI‑enabled telemedicine platform. You will work with both ASP.NET Core and PHP Laravel as part of a technology transition strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using ASP.NET Core (C#).
• Maintain, enhance, and modernize the existing PHP Laravel platform.
• Build secure, high‑performance RESTful APIs and integrate third‑party healthcare services.
• Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and overall application scalability.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and secure data handling (e.g., JWT).
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Flutter, QA, Cloud, and Frontend teams.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with both ASP.NET Core (C#) and PHP Laravel.
• Proven ability to design and develop RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Entity Framework Core and SQL Server or MySQL.
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and secure authentication mechanisms.
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs, especially in healthcare contexts.
