Senior Design Engineer

About the role

Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to lead the creation of complex engineering solutions. The role involves overseeing the full product lifecycle, from concept through production, while ensuring performance, quality, and cost targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the complete design engineering process, including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production support.
• Develop and maintain engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate and optimize designs.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering continuous learning.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to improve product capabilities.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for design issues and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive design engineering experience, preferably in automotive, industrial, electronics, or power systems.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
