Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability, performance and scalability of Wiley’s software systems. In this role you will work within the technology team, using monitoring, automation and incident‑management practices to improve system stability and support efficient software delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system availability, performance, capacity and reliability using observability tools, dashboards and alerts.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure‑as‑code solutions to reduce manual tasks.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with development teams to improve build and deployment processes.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, respond to incidents, and contribute to post‑incident reviews.
• Troubleshoot technical issues by applying knowledge of system architecture and established procedures.
• Work with development and operations teams to optimise performance and minimise technology risk.

Required profile

• Practical knowledge of site reliability engineering, systems engineering or DevOps.
• Experience monitoring software systems with observability, logging or performance‑monitoring tools.
• Experience creating automation scripts in a scripting or programming language.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
• Familiarity with incident management, root‑cause analysis and post‑incident review processes.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and willingness to participate in on‑call rotation.
