Technical Director – Protection Component

About the role

The Technical Director for the Protection Component of the Jordan Humanitarian and Systems Strengthening Program (JHASS) will lead the design, implementation, and quality assurance of survivor‑centered protection services. Reporting to senior program leadership, you will ensure interventions are evidence‑based, gender‑transformative, and aligned with Pathfinder’s mission to strengthen resilient, inclusive systems.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑lead strategic and work planning to meet donor requirements and project objectives.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate progress, ensuring quality across all protection activities.
• Provide technical guidance to project staff, partners, and local CSOs, building their capacity in evidence‑based protection practices.
• Collaborate with Pathfinder global support teams to align programming with agency vision and disseminate lessons learned.
• Lead the MEAL agenda, documenting program learning and contributing to agency‑wide knowledge sharing.
• Support monitoring of project performance using Pathfinder tools and ensure efficient resource utilization.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian protection, preferably in the Middle East or similar contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑stakeholder teams and manage complex, donor‑funded projects.
• Strong understanding of gender‑transformative approaches and survivor‑centered service delivery.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills with government, NGOs, and development partners.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of global evidence‑based protection practices.
• Capacity‑building and technical coaching experience.
• Strategic planning and quality assurance expertise.
• Familiarity with MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) frameworks.
