About the role
Checkpoint Store is seeking a full‑time Accountant to join its finance team in Amman. The position is hybrid, allowing you to work on‑site a few days a week and remotely for the remainder.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain daily bookkeeping, record transactions and reconcile bank statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable and ensure accurate general‑ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with Jordanian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Prepare documentation for audits and support audit processes.
- Collaborate with operations, sales and management to provide financial insights and support inventory costing.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
- Strong foundation in accounting principles, general‑ledger management and financial reporting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and basic financial analysis.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and audit preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for explaining financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work both on‑site in Amman and remotely.
- Prior experience in retail, e‑commerce or product‑based businesses is advantageous.
