AI Engineer (Computer Vision and Applied GenAI)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level AI Engineer based in Amman to work remotely with a distributed engineering team. You will take AI prototypes to reliable production, owning the model, data, services and validation end‑to‑end.

Key responsibilities

• Design, train, fine‑tune and evaluate computer‑vision models (detection, classification, segmentation, tracking) and integrate them into production pipelines.
• Build LLM‑powered features such as retrieval‑augmented generation, tool‑using agents, structured extraction and the supporting prompt/evaluation infrastructure.
• Develop APIs, data pipelines, batch and streaming jobs, and storage solutions around the models.
• Optimize inference for target hardware, including quantisation, batching and edge deployment.
• Define, track and report quality metrics, and instrument monitoring for drift, latency and failures.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate vague needs into scoped, measurable deliverables.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience building and shipping ML/AI systems in production.
• Strong Python programming with clean, testable code.
• Deep expertise in either computer vision (PyTorch/TensorFlow, OpenCV, modern detection/segmentation) or applied GenAI (LLM APIs, embeddings, vector stores, prompt design) and familiarity with the other.
• Solid software‑engineering fundamentals: Git, code review, CI, Docker, Linux command line.
• Experience deploying models as services on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with basic observability.
• Proficiency in SQL and data handling.
• Fluent written and spoken English; German is a strong plus.
