Assistant Banquet Operations Manager

About the role

The Assistant Banquet Operations Manager supports the management and supervision of banquet events at a hotel or resort, ensuring smooth operations, excellent guest service, and efficient execution of conferences, weddings, corporate meetings and other large gatherings.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate banquet events from start to finish, aligning with client specifications and hotel standards.
• Liaise with clients, event planners and internal departments to meet seating, catering and audiovisual requirements.
• Prepare event timelines, staff schedules and logistics for seamless operation.
• Oversee banquet staff – servers, bartenders, setup crew and coordinators – ensuring high performance and professionalism.
• Train and motivate the banquet team to deliver exceptional service.
• Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene and operational guidelines.
• Inspect venues, supervise meal and beverage preparation, and guarantee quality standards.
• Act as main client contact during events, handling last‑minute requests and complaints.
• Manage banquet supplies, equipment and inventory, minimizing waste.
• Assist with budgeting, cost tracking and resource allocation.
• Ensure health, safety and food‑hygiene regulations are met, including permits and licenses.
• Participate in post‑event evaluations and performance reviews.
