Assistant Director of Security & Safety

About the role

The Assistant Director of Security & Safety supports the Director of Loss Prevention in overseeing daily security operations, protecting assets, employees, and guests. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, maintains documentation, and leads emergency and fire‑prevention initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing emergency procedures and safety codes.
• Supervise security staff, monitor patrols, and maintain accurate logs and certifications.
• Handle complaints, resolve disputes, and negotiate conflict situations.
• Report procedural violations and recommend action plans to mitigate risk.
• Provide coverage for the Director of Loss Prevention when absent.
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate team performance, recognizing achievements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of security/loss‑prevention experience, OR an associate degree in Criminal Justice (or related) with 2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage security operations and enforce investigative procedures.
• Strong communication skills for training staff and interacting with guests and employees.
