Associate Director – Finance / Financial Controller

About the role

A leading global pharmaceutical company is seeking an Associate Director – Finance / Financial Controller to lead the US Finance Department operations remotely while based in Amman, Jordan. This senior leadership role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, regulatory compliance, and effective financial operations for the company’s US business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end financial reporting for US operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness in line with IFRS and company policies.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for US entities, reviewing balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal entries and financial analyses.
• Lead, develop and manage a team of nine finance professionals, setting objectives, performance expectations and development plans.
• Partner with US‑based business leaders, providing insightful financial analysis, commentary and recommendations to support decision‑making.
• Ensure strong financial governance, internal control compliance and adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations.
• Drive process improvements, automation and standardisation across finance systems and reporting tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (required).
• 12–15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including controller or senior finance manager roles.
• Experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences or manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large finance teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP reporting standards.
• Expertise in financial close, balance‑sheet reconciliations and journal entry review.
• Experience with internal controls, audit processes and regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Ability to use finance systems and reporting tools to drive process improvements.
