Child Protection Consultant – Parenting for Violence Prevention

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Child Protection Consultant to provide technical assistance on parenting interventions that prevent violence against children. The consultancy will support the Centres of Excellence in Child Protection and Social Behaviour Change (SBC) by advising country offices and governments, and by contributing to global guidance and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical assistance to UNICEF country offices and government partners on SBC‑informed parenting programmes for violence prevention.
• Develop, adapt and scale integrated parenting strategies within national systems.
• Document good practices and produce regional and global guidance notes.
• Facilitate cross‑country learning and knowledge sharing on child protection and SBC.
• Strengthen practical SBC resources for contextual adaptation.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Child Protection, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, International Development, Education, or related social science.
• Minimum eight years of professional experience in child protection, SBC, parenting programme design, or policy development.
• Proven experience working with UNICEF, UN agencies or similar international organisations.
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills in English.
