Civil Engineering Internship – Water Infrastructure (Jordan)

About the role

Join CDM Smith as a Civil Engineering Intern on the USAID Building Water Infrastructure (BWI) project in Jordan. This internship offers hands‑on experience in planning, designing, and supervising water and wastewater infrastructure while developing core engineering and teamwork skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Construction/Design team with technical and administrative tasks.
• Assist in preparation of preliminary construction and design activities.
• Participate in site daily work, project reporting, and technical writing following CDM Smith and USG policies.
• Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and contribute to report writing.
• Conduct desktop and field research, including literature review.
• Accompany senior engineers to project sites and help organize conferences or events.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a civil engineering or related program.
• Strong interest in water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Willingness to work on‑site and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Understanding of engineering codes relevant to water and wastewater projects.
• Basic technical writing and report‑writing abilities.
• Ability to conduct both desktop and field research.
