Director of Emerging Tech

About the role

We are seeking a technically dominant Director of Emerging Technology to lead our EmTech engineering team in Jordan. You will own the full engineering mandate for emerging technology, shaping how we architect, build, and deliver solutions across low‑code platforms, microservices, APIs, and modern cloud‑native stacks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on technical oversight for the EmTech portfolio, including Mendix (or equivalent), microservices, APIs, and cloud‑native architectures.
• Lead architecture reviews, estimates, and technical decisions, ensuring rigorous and realistic commitments.
• Drive code quality, technical debt management, and design‑review practices.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies such as AI/ML and intelligent automation, separating hype from production‑ready capability.
• Establish and monitor engineering KPIs: velocity, defect density, deployment frequency, MTTR.
• Build a culture of accountability, equitable performance, and consistent delivery excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior engineering leadership with a track record of delivering complex, production‑grade systems.
• Ability to absorb external pressure and provide clear, calm direction to teams.
• Data‑informed decision‑making using dashboards, defect rates, and deployment logs.
• Strong empathy and consistent standards applied fairly across the team.
