English Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Amman is looking for an English teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The school belongs to the SABIS network, which operates in 21 countries and uses its own educational system and teaching methods. The teacher's purpose is to ensure students' success and help them reach their full potential by applying the SABIS curriculum, philosophy and teaching methods.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from the pacing charts when needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used in the classroom.
• Mark exams in line with the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System to create a conducive learning environment.
• Proctor exams and manage a proper test environment.
• Support low-performing students through guidance and motivation.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing previous papers according to the revision schedule.
• Take part in activities linked to student life events such as art, open houses and physical education, with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions when requested by school management.
• Help with other duties such as testing students, covering for absent teachers, organizing students for lunch and buses, and other administrative tasks assigned by management.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour and ethical conduct.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to deliver results, continuous learning, accountability and ownership.
