Environmental & Social (ES) Manager

About the role

Arab Dar Engineering Co. (ADEC) is seeking an Environmental and Social (ES) Manager for an internationally funded water infrastructure project in Jordan. The role leads the environmental and social supervision of the contractor's works and ensures compliance with safeguard requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all environmental and social supervision of the Contractor's works
• Review and approve the Contractor's Environmental and Social Management Plan (C-ESMP)
• Monitor compliance with the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plan (EMMP)
• Oversee the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM)
• Implement chance-find procedures and cultural heritage protocols
• Manage GBVH/SEAH risks and anti-trafficking measures
• Prepare and submit ESHS reports to the Water Authority of Jordan and the funding agency
• Coordinate with and oversee the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Engineer on OHS matters

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in environmental and social supervision of infrastructure construction
• Experience with USG environmental safeguard requirements (22 CFR Part 216) or equivalent international financier safeguard requirements
• Lead Auditor certification (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001) or equivalent international safeguards accreditation
