Executive Housekeeper I

About the role

W Hotels is hiring an Executive Housekeeper I in Amman, Jordan, responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. The position directs and works with employees so that guestrooms, public spaces and employee areas stay clean and well maintained, completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action, and helps maintain guest and employee satisfaction within the operating budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations: communicate guest room status to the Front Desk, work with Engineering on room maintenance, supervise the general cleaning schedule and prepare work assignments from immediate cleaning lists and prospective check-outs.
• Inventories stock, assists in ordering guestroom supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms, and supports an inspection program for guestrooms and public spaces.
• Supervise daily shift operations and ensure compliance with housekeeping policies, standards and procedures.
• Manage controllable departmental costs and help achieve or exceed budgeted goals, using budgets, operating statements and payroll reports.
• Handle guest problems and complaints, empower employees to deliver excellent service and focus on continuous improvement.
• Participate in accident investigations, supervise staffing levels, and ensure fair and consistent application of property policies and disciplinary procedures.
• Train new room attendants, give feedback on service behaviour, take part in performance appraisals, and assist in hiring and orienting new employees.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, with 2 years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
• OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related major; no work experience required.
