General Manager - Holiday Inn, Amman Airport Road

About the role

Holiday Inn is looking for a General Manager for its hotel on Amman Airport Road. The GM manages the day-to-day leadership and direction of the hotel, maximises sales and revenue and drives financial returns, while developing people, upholding brand standards and building awareness of the hotel and brand in the local area.

Key responsibilities

• People: run engagement programmes, develop and monitor succession planning, set performance and development goals, mentor and coach team members, and oversee HR actions in line with company rules and policies.
• Guest experience: maintain brand and service standards, improve guest satisfaction, work with colleagues to deliver services that meet or exceed guest expectations, and actively seek guest feedback.
• Financial: prepare annual capital, cash flow and sales and marketing plans, analyse financials to drive revenue and profitability, use distribution channels and technology platforms to grow market share, and lead capital plans and asset management initiatives with owners.
• Responsible business: keep the hotel safe and secure, act as public relations representative for the brand in the local community, involve team members in community activities, and take steps to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint.
• Other duties as assigned, including possibly serving as manager on duty.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Hotel Administration, Business Administration or a related field.
• Five to ten years of prior hotel management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; requirements may vary with the size and complexity of the operation.
• Fluent English; other languages preferred.
