Health, Safety & Environment Lead – Amman Customs Center

About the role

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Lead will oversee all HSE activities at the Amman Customs Center, ensuring compliance with Jordanian regulations and Noatum Ports standards. You will work closely with operations, contractors, and government authorities to foster a zero‑harm safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of HSE programs across ACC operations.
• Ensure compliance with Jordanian HSE regulations and internal standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Manage Permit‑to‑Work processes and monitor contractor HSE performance.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and track corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and coordinate drills.
• Provide HSE advice to management and support continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System.
• Prepare HSE performance reports and dashboards for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 8‑10+ years of HSE experience with supervisory responsibility, preferably in logistics, ports or high‑risk industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of Jordanian HSE regulations.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• NEBOSH IGC (strongly preferred).
• Knowledge or certification in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Risk assessment and incident investigation expertise.
• Emergency response planning and contractor management.
