Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor in Amman, Jordan, to inspect cleaned guest rooms and public areas, run room reports and coordinate housekeeping with engineering, front office and laundry. The role also involves supporting staff hiring, training and scheduling, and upholding the hotel's quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and the pool after cleaning to ensure quality standards.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, prioritize cleaning and update the status of departing guest rooms.
• Assist housekeeping management with daily activities and act as a liaison between housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry.
• Document and resolve discrepant rooms with the front desk, prepare and distribute room assignment changes, and brief the next shift.
• Help with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and coaching staff, and follow safety and security policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank guests sincerely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No license or certification required.

Required skills

• Ability to move objects up to 55 pounds alone and more with assistance, and to operate a housekeeping cart and machinery on uneven surfaces.
• Use of computers and point-of-sale systems, and reading small print.
• Physical stamina to stand, sit, kneel or walk for an entire shift.
