HSE Shift Executive

About the role

The HSE Shift Executive provides frontline health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) support for terminal operations at Noatum Ports Jordan in Aqaba. Working on a rotating shift schedule, the role ensures continuous monitoring of safe work practices, compliance with HSSE procedures and rapid response to operational risks.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor terminal activities to verify compliance with HSSE requirements.
• Carry out routine workplace inspections, safety observations and identify unsafe conditions.
• Support Permit‑to‑Work implementation and participate in risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses.
• Report unsafe acts, near‑misses, incidents and assist with investigations and corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and support emergency response drills.
• Track and escalate HSSE findings, prepare shift HSSE reports and ensure contractor compliance.
• Promote a proactive safety culture among frontline employees and support the implementation of the Integrated Management System and Noatum Ports HSSE standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related field.
• Relevant HSSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA.
• 3‑5+ years of HSSE experience, preferably in ports, terminals, logistics or industrial environments.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage.
