Humanitarian Access & Security Manager

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Humanitarian Access & Security Manager to lead the safety and security of its staff and operations in Jordan. Based in Amman, the manager will develop and implement access and security plans that align with IRC policies and humanitarian principles, ensuring a secure environment for program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor security risks across all IRC sites, facilities and activities in Jordan.
• Develop, review and update comprehensive security management and humanitarian access plans.
• Ensure compliance with IRC safety standards and coordinate with program teams to integrate security considerations.
• Provide timely security briefings, training and guidance to staff and partners.
• Track changes in the security environment and advise senior management on mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security management or humanitarian access within conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of international humanitarian standards and principles.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across units.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
