Kitchen Intern

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Kitchen Intern to join our culinary team at a leading hotel in Amman. The role offers hands‑on experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling and storing fresh produce.
• Measure, mix and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food temperature and quality, conduct taste tests and ensure compliance with food safety checklists.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools and equipment.
• Follow company safety policies, report incidents and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift objects up to 25 lb and perform physical tasks such as bending and reaching.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety and sanitation practices.
• Temperature monitoring and quality control.
