Kitchen Intern

About the role

The Kitchen Intern will join the culinary team at a Marriott International property in Amman, supporting daily food preparation and kitchen operations. This hands‑on position offers practical experience in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing and measuring.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Test food for proper doneness and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen area.
• Check appliance and food temperatures, and follow all safety, security and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry objects up to 25 lb without assistance.
• No supervisory experience required; no specific license or certification needed.
