Lead Civil Engineer

About the role

The Lead Civil Engineer will direct civil subcontractors throughout the construction phase of power‑related projects. This senior position ensures that all civil works are delivered safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage civil subcontractors from mobilization through execution, completion, and close‑out.
• Coordinate civil construction activities such as earthworks, foundations, concrete structures, buildings, roads, drainage, and underground networks.
• Review subcontractor work plans, manpower, equipment, schedules, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor progress against the approved schedule, identify delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Construction, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Contracts, Commercial, and Procurement teams.
• Verify that work follows approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project procedures.
• Support variation, claim, and scope‑change evaluations and ensure proper documentation.
• Oversee punch‑list clearance, handover, and close‑out activities while maintaining HSE and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience, preferably on EPC construction projects.
• Previous experience as a Manager, Construction Manager, Subcontract Manager, or equivalent.
• Experience in power plants, CCGT, substations, industrial or oil & gas infrastructure is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage civil subcontractors and large construction packages.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, quantities, and progress measurement.
• Excellent coordination, negotiation, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent English.
