MEAL Manager – National (Syria)

About the role

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager will lead the development and implementation of MEAL systems for all projects in the Syria field office. Working closely with the Head of MEAL, the role ensures data quality, evidence‑based programming and compliance with Save the Children’s standards, with a strong child‑friendly and gender‑inclusive focus.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain MEAL frameworks, tools and data collection processes across project sites.
• Lead project reviews, evaluations and MEAL budgeting, and support proposal writing and logframe development.
• Provide technical guidance to MEAL Coordinators, field teams and partner organisations.
• Capture and disseminate lessons learned, aligning with the organisation’s learning agenda.
• Oversee safe and secure data management systems and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
• Collaborate with the Accountability function to integrate feedback mechanisms.

Required profile

• Significant experience in MEAL within humanitarian or development programmes.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑site monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with evidence‑based reporting.
• Understanding of child safeguarding and gender, age and diversity considerations.
