Mechanical Site Engineer – Water & Irrigation Projects

About the role

Hussein Atieh & Sons Co. (HAE) is looking for two experienced Mechanical Site Engineers to lead installation and supervision activities on water supply, irrigation or treated sewage effluent (TSE) projects. The role involves coordinating mechanical works on‑site, ensuring compliance with design, quality, health, safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical installation activities according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor installation of pumps, valves, piping systems and related mechanical equipment.
• Ensure proper equipment alignment, testing, commissioning and hand‑over.
• Coordinate mechanical works with civil, electrical, instrumentation and automation teams.
• Manage inspections, material approvals, testing and commissioning together with QA/QC, consultants and subcontractors.
• Enforce HSE requirements and approved construction procedures.
• Track progress, productivity and site constraints, reporting to the Project Manager.
• Prepare daily reports, site records, quantity measurements and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience on water supply, wastewater, irrigation or TSE projects, including at least 5 years in a similar site‑engineer role.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Pump installation, alignment, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Mechanical piping systems – DI, HDPE, PVC and related fittings.
• Installation and supervision of pumps, valves, pipes, fittings and mechanical equipment.
• Experience with pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment plant equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, shop drawings and specifications.
• Good understanding of QA/QC procedures, inspection requirements and HSE standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project is an advantage.
