Nephrology Specialist Physician - Doha

About the role

Hamad Medical Corporation is looking for a Nephrology Specialist to work in Doha. The specialist provides clinical care within a team setting, acting under the guidance of the Consultant and supporting the Consultant's duties. The role covers patient care, clinical privileges, supervision of subordinates and research and teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, monitor and maintain departmental services to deliver the best patient care with optimal use of resources.
• Maintain clinical privileges and perform patient-care interventions within the approved scope.
• Follow HMC policies, guidelines and strategic programs; conduct daily inpatient rounds and evaluate patient care activities as assigned.
• Care for new and existing patients in the specialized clinics, present new cases to the Consultant, and perform on-call duties.
• Advise other departments and communicate with the Consultant on patient progress, clinical concerns and complex decisions.
• Write, complete and approve medical records such as history and physical, progress notes, operative and discharge summaries.
• Deliver training, academic work and research as directed by the department head, and take part in health education programs.
• Supervise subordinates and ensure they are properly trained, and compile with research policies and processes.

Required profile

• Arab Board qualification or an equivalent (Jordan, India, Sudan, Tunisia and others).
• At least 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in Vascular Surgery, from a government, semi-government or private teaching hospital.
• Valid medical license from the home country and/or eligibility for licensing in Qatar.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care, patient safety and clinical excellence.
