Project Engineer – Waste Management

About the role

KEO is seeking a Project Engineer to join its award‑winning Sustainability and Environment Division in Amman. Working on a hybrid schedule, you will collaborate with the Waste Infrastructure Lead and a global team to deliver waste treatment, recycling, resource recovery and energy‑from‑waste projects across the Middle East, Europe and the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Support the full project lifecycle – feasibility, concept development, procurement, design review, construction and commissioning.
• Conduct technical assessments of thermal, mechanical, biological and chemical waste‑treatment technologies.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, due‑diligence assessments, options appraisals and business cases.
• Assist with Basis of Design, process descriptions, mass balances, technical specifications and performance requirements.
• Review contractor proposals and technology solutions, and contribute to project coordination, proposals and business‑development activities.

Required profile

• Engineering background with interest in waste‑management infrastructure.
• Ability to work both on‑site and remotely in a hybrid model.
• Experience supporting projects through multiple phases from design to commissioning.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of thermal waste‑treatment technologies.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical waste‑treatment technologies.
• Technical knowledge of biological waste‑treatment technologies.
• Technical knowledge of chemical waste‑treatment technologies.
