Proposal Writing and Communications Intern

About the role

The Proposal Writing and Communications Intern will support Edmaaj’s development and training initiatives by assisting senior consultants in preparing project proposals, concept notes, and client communications. This on‑site position in Amman offers hands‑on experience in the development sector with a focus on gender and governance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review calls for proposals, conduct background research, and draft structured sections such as methodology, work plans, and organizational capacity.
• Edit and format documents, prepare presentation materials, and maintain content libraries.
• Coordinate with team members to collect inputs and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to social media, website content, and communication materials, and help document lessons learned and success stories.

Required profile

• Strong writing and editing abilities in English; Arabic writing skills are a plus.
• Research and analytical skills to synthesize information from diverse sources and understand donor requirements.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities with attention to detail.
• Relevant academic background in development studies, social sciences, public policy, gender studies, international relations, or related fields.
