Research Physicist – Freelance AI Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a freelance research physicist to design and develop challenging optics problems for AI training projects. The role involves creating computationally intensive tasks that reflect real physics research workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design original optics problems that simulate real research workflows.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within days or weeks.
• Develop problems requiring non‑trivial reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
• Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications in optics and physics.
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental or computational) or a related field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in applied research, teaching or related work.
• Strong written English (C1 level or higher).

Required skills

• Numerical simulation methods.
• Physics modeling and approximation techniques.

What we offer

• Project‑based freelance contract.
• Estimated workload of 10–20 hours per week during active phases.
• Compensation up to $35 per hour, depending on expertise and contribution speed.
