School Doctor

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in Amman is looking for a School Doctor within its Administration department. The role ensures that proper first aid procedures are followed in emergencies involving students and staff, and covers the school's health and hygiene programs, clinic operations and reporting to management.

Key responsibilities

• Set and document a comprehensive health and hygiene program, including a personal hygiene program for students.
• Develop a systematic, periodic health inspection program to reduce the risk of epidemics among students and staff.
• Maintain up-to-date student health records and follow up on health- or injury-related absences.
• Prepare the school clinic to handle mild injuries and moderate illnesses, and standardize clinic procedures for consistent, high-quality care.
• Inform parents of potential health or injury incidents and facilitate communication about special medical needs during school hours.
• Deliver accurate, timely health reports to management and recommend safety measures to prevent injury.
• Ensure cafeteria staff comply with Ministry of Health regulations and display health and safety tips for students and staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification.
• English proficiency.
• Ability to handle medical emergency situations in the school and make quick, responsible decisions.
• Conscientiousness and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Effective communication skills.
• Meets all employment requirements, including country and local education and certification requirements, reference checks and criminal background checks.
