Senior Global Health Security Advisor

About the role

Dexis, through its LEAP Global program, is seeking a Senior Global Health Security Advisor to work with the Jordan Ministry of Health. The advisor will be embedded in the STRIDES office in Amman and will support life‑saving humanitarian assistance aligned with U.S. Executive Order directives, focusing on prevention, detection and response to infectious disease threats.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the Jordan Ministry of Health and related ministries (Agriculture, Environment) on zoonotic and other infectious disease threats.
• Identify programmatic bottlenecks and coordinate solutions across GHS projects and the Pandemic Fund.
• Facilitate multi‑sectoral collaboration to adopt and implement life‑saving interventions.
• Support the implementation of the U.S. Government’s GHS portfolio in Jordan, ensuring alignment with DOS and USAID standards.
• Work closely with on‑site Ministry of Health managers to monitor progress and report outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global health security, infectious disease surveillance, or related public‑health fields.
• Familiarity with U.S. Government‑funded health programs and experience working with government or non‑governmental organizations.
• Proven ability to work in multi‑disciplinary, multi‑sector environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to address programmatic challenges.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in infectious disease detection, prevention and response.
• Knowledge of zoonotic disease dynamics and public‑health emergency operations.
