Senior Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead end‑to‑end payroll operations, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and drive continuous improvement across the payroll function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly payroll calendar, collect and validate attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions and unpaid leave, run calculations, perform variance analysis and issue payslips, bank files and payroll registers.
• Maintain a complete audit trail, conduct pre‑payroll validations, flag exceptions and implement root‑cause corrective actions.
• Coordinate statutory submissions (tax, social security) within deadlines, validate benefit deductions and eligibility, and resolve employee payroll queries within service level agreements.
• Oversee monthly final settlement (F&F) processes, validate inputs, run calculations, perform reconciliations and produce related registers and reports.
• Drive automation by creating standardized templates, input packs and maintaining payroll SOPs, checklists and an exceptions playbook.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in full‑cycle payroll processing.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform variance analysis and root‑cause investigations.
• In‑depth knowledge of statutory payroll regulations and benefit administration.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to address employee queries and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
