Senior Research Officer – MSNA (Global)

About the role

The Senior Research Officer will join the Global Multi‑Sector Needs Assessment (MSNA) Team within the Research Systems Unit, based in Amman. Reporting to the MSNA Research and Development Specialist, the role involves up to 20% field travel and contributes to scaling and improving the MSNA programme worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the delivery of approximately 20 annual MSNAs across multiple crisis contexts.
• Work closely with country teams and the Global Data Team to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Enhance the resilience and efficiency of the humanitarian data and information system.
• Support the development of research methodologies, tools, and best practices for needs assessments.
• Contribute to the preparation of high‑quality information products for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian research, multi‑sector needs assessments, or related fields.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Willingness to travel for field deployments (up to 20%).
