Staff Accountant (Jordan, Second Shift)

About the role

The Staff Accountant is responsible for general ledger functions and for following US GAAP accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with reporting and internal control requirements and protecting APCO's assets. The role reports to the Financial Controller - US and sits in APCO's Jordan office on a second shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Jordan time) to match US working hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly general ledger account analysis of balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations for the North America office.
• Perform weekly offsets and regularize clearing of accounts receivable, keeping accurate aging records.
• Record inter-company payments and invoices.
• Provide cash receipts for accounts receivable to support daily processing.
• Manage assigned accounts payable, including setting up and recording wire vendor payments.
• Record expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed asset depreciation and adjusting or reclassifying journal entries as needed.
• Support month-end close with ongoing journal entries and accruals, and provide ad hoc analysis and support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with a focus on accounting.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience, including journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations and analysis.
• CPA or CPA candidate highly desirable.
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
