Vehicle Control Officer – Fleet Management

About the role

The Vehicle Control Officer is responsible for overseeing the efficient use, safety, and administration of UNRWA’s vehicle fleet in Amman. Reporting to the Senior Fleet Management Officer, the incumbent ensures that transport operations support field office activities while maintaining cost‑effectiveness and compliance with agency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, control, and coordinate allocation, scheduling, and use of agency vehicles and drivers.
• Monitor and update fleet management systems (Feetwave, Fleetlog) to ensure accurate records.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, fuel usage, and enforce movement discipline.
• Investigate vehicle damages, manage insurance claims, and prepare loss reports.
• Administer driver allowances, travel subsistence, and transport permits.
• Ensure all drivers hold appropriate licences and oversee armored‑vehicle transport programs.
• Assist in preparing the annual fleet budget using ERP transactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fleet or vehicle management within a large organization.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills, capable of managing a large support staff.
• Ability to enforce compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Excellent record‑keeping and reporting abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Feetwave fleet management software.
• Proficiency in Fleetlog fleet management software.
