Accountant – Accounts Receivable & Reconciliation

About the role

The Accountant will manage the full accounts‑receivable cycle, ensuring that all revenue from point‑of‑sale systems, cash collections, bank deposits, credit‑card settlements and delivery‑aggregator platforms is accurately recorded and reconciled on a daily and monthly basis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly reconciliation between POS sales reports and accounting records.
• Reconcile cash collections from stores with bank deposits and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile credit‑card settlements with POS transactions and bank statements.
• Reconcile aggregator platforms (e.g., Talabat, Careem, Deliveroo) with POS sales and payments received.
• Monitor accounts‑receivable balances, ensuring timely collection and proper recording.
• Investigate and resolve variances between sales, collections, and bank settlements.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliation schedules for cash, credit cards, and aggregator receivables.
• Coordinate with operations, stores, and treasury teams to resolve differences.
• Record and post revenue‑related journal entries and adjustments with appropriate documentation.
• Assist in month‑end closing activities related to revenue and receivables.
• Prepare periodic reports on variances, unreconciled balances, and outstanding receivables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 1‑3 years of experience managing a general ledger.
• Good knowledge of Jordan tax regulations (sales tax, income tax, withholding tax).
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with all organizational levels.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using an ERP system.
