Backend Software Engineer – SaaS Contact Center

About the role

Maqsam, the leading Arabic AI‑powered contact‑center solution in the MENA region, is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join its SaaS team. You will work on high‑availability systems that power Arabic call transcription, analytics and AI‑driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into well‑defined technical solutions and implement them.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues in a high‑availability environment.
• Optimize system performance through testing and code refinement.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate new technologies and frameworks.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and best‑practice implementation.
• Document development processes, code changes and critical information.
• Participate in design and architecture decisions for internal systems and databases.
• Support junior engineers and help onboard new team members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in backend or full‑stack web development.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with mobile development or VoIP projects is a plus.
