Fire Life Safety Specialist

About the role

The Fire Life Safety Specialist is responsible for protecting the hotel’s guests, colleagues, visitors and assets by ensuring fire safety systems are compliant, operational and aligned with IHG standards and local regulations. Working within the Risk Management team, you will conduct inspections, support emergency preparedness and provide training to raise fire safety awareness across the property.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce fire life safety standards in line with hotel policies and Jordanian regulations.
• Perform regular inspections of fire detection, alarm, and suppression equipment including fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers, fire pumps, emergency exits and related systems.
• Test and maintain the main Fire Alarm Panel, repeaters and associated circuitry, reporting any faults promptly.
• Coordinate fire drills, evacuation exercises and other emergency preparedness activities.
• Train colleagues on fire prevention, emergency procedures and proper use of firefighting equipment.
• Maintain accurate records, inspection logs, testing documentation and certifications.
• Support investigations of fire or safety incidents and follow up on corrective actions.
• Liaise with Engineering and other departments to ensure timely maintenance and rectification of fire safety systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Certification as a Fire Life Safety Specialist meeting Jordanian government requirements.
• 2‑4 years of progressive experience in fire life safety, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
