International Project Manager – Desalination Plant

About the role

SUEZ Engineering & Construction is seeking an International Project Manager to lead the design, construction and commissioning of a large‑scale seawater desalination plant in Aqaba, Jordan. The role combines high technical complexity, strict environmental standards and strategic national importance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the project execution strategy for a complex desalination facility.
• Ensure full compliance with QHSE standards and local marine/environmental regulations.
• Deliver the project on time, within budget and to the highest quality and technical standards.
• Manage contract execution, safeguarding SUEZ’s commercial interests.
• Lead and coordinate a multicultural team of engineers, procurement and construction specialists.
• Interface with public authorities, client representatives, consultants and subcontractors.
• Oversee technical aspects such as intake/outfall systems, pre‑treatment, RO membranes and energy optimisation.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide structured reporting to senior management and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience managing large‑scale EPC or Design‑&‑Build infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in desalination or water‑treatment projects.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
