Junior Water & Wastewater Engineer/Drafter

About the role

The CDM Smith International Development Group is looking for a motivated junior civil engineer to support the planning, design and procurement of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for Jordan, working full‑time at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation’s National Conveyor Project Management Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on engineering and drafting submittals and coordinate with existing utilities owners.
• Use CAD/Civil 3D to integrate data, identify conflicts, and produce 2‑D technical drawings for pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, etc.
• Prepare administrative and technical reports and assist with tender documents for NCP readiness projects.
• Conduct site assessments and field investigations to gather data for design and modelling.
• Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to collect required data and support overall project delivery.
• Collaborate with senior MWI and CDM Smith staff in meetings, presentations and documentation.

Required profile

• Junior civil engineer with interest in water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Ability to work onsite within the client’s office and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder coordination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software, specifically Civil 3D.
• Experience creating 2‑D technical drawings and layouts for water‑related projects.
• Familiarity with reviewing engineering and drafting submittals.
