Team Leader – Water Infrastructure Project (Jordan)

About the role

CDM Smith is seeking a Team Leader to oversee the delivery of Jordan’s largest water‑security initiative. Based in Amman, the role will guide the implementation phase of a Build‑Operate‑Transfer desalination and conveyance programme, working closely with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water Authority of Jordan and international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall technical direction and project management for the complex water infrastructure programme.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USG/GoJ, MWI, WAJ and other national and international stakeholders.
• Ensure all technical, procurement, advisory and management services meet contract requirements, work plans and regulatory standards.
• Manage project risks, sensitivities and coordination demands associated with a large‑scale BOT desalination project.
• Oversee construction, commissioning and ongoing legal, financial and technical support during implementation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large water‑infrastructure or desalination projects, preferably under a BOT model.
• Strong understanding of water security, renewable energy integration and greenhouse‑gas emission limits.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with government agencies, donors and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Minimum two‑year assignment commitment in Jordan.
