Accountant

About the role

Global Factories House, a retail and distribution company in Jordan's fashion sector founded in 2015 and based in Amman, is hiring a full-time, on-site Accountant. The role covers day-to-day financial accounting, supporting the finance function of a fashion retailer and distributor.

Key responsibilities

• Record journal entries, maintain general ledgers, reconcile bank and cash accounts, and process accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare invoices, track payments, assist with payroll calculations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
• Support monthly and annual closing, help prepare financial statements and management reports
• Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations and internal policies
• Work with store and operations teams on inventory costing, expense monitoring and budget tracking

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Prior experience in retail, distribution or fashion-related businesses is beneficial
• Ability to work on-site in Amman, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• General accounting: journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
• Accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, billing and payment follow-up
• Financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing, and basic financial statements
• Taxation knowledge, including VAT, payroll obligations and statutory filings
• Accounting software and ERP systems, and strong Microsoft Excel
