AutoCAD Draftsman – Civil & Electrical

About the role

We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Draftsman to produce accurate civil and electrical drawings for construction and infrastructure projects. The role supports project delivery from concept through construction, working closely with engineers, project managers and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed AutoCAD 2D drawings for civil works (site grading, drainage, utilities, roads, earthworks) and electrical works (power distribution, lighting, cable routing, panel schedules).
• Prepare and issue design‑review, coordination and construction drawings, including plans, sections, details and isometrics.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, resolve clashes and update drawings accordingly.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision control and metadata in line with company and client procedures.
• Generate as‑built and record drawings from site measurements, surveys and contractor feedback.
• Assist in converting field sketches and survey data into accurate CAD drawings.
• Prepare cable schedules, wiring diagrams, single‑line diagrams and panel layouts as directed by electrical engineers.
• Support quantity take‑offs and Bill of Materials preparation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Associate degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience producing civil and electrical AutoCAD drawings in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness and ability to produce constructible drawings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with engineers, site teams and contractors.
• Willingness to attend regular site visits to gather measurements and verify installations.

Required skills

• High proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• Experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Familiarity with civil and electrical engineering drawing conventions and code requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and drawing registers.
• Experience with project document‑control systems and PDF markup tools.
• Ability to work with survey data, CSV/GPS imports and perform basic coordinate‑system transformations.
