Chief Engineer

About the role

The Chief Engineer leads the engineering department of Movenpick Resort Petra, ensuring all hotel facilities operate safely and efficiently. This senior position oversees mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems while driving energy‑saving initiatives and supporting a high level of guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, train and develop the engineering team, assigning tasks and managing shifts.
• Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs and day‑to‑day operations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire safety systems.
• Prepare and control the department budget, monitor energy and water consumption, and manage inventory of parts and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and fire regulations, conduct regular inspections and act as the primary contact during emergencies.
• Manage capital projects, renovations and upgrades, coordinating with external contractors to meet timelines and budgets.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in hotel engineering or similar large‑scale facilities.
• Proven leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage budgets, control costs and drive energy‑efficiency projects.
