Chief of Party – Jordan

About the role

The Chief of Party (CoP) is the senior‑most representative responsible for the technical, managerial and administrative leadership of the Building Water Infrastructure (BWI) program in Jordan. Reporting to the United States Government (USG) and the Government of Jordan, the CoP ensures program objectives are met across 20 work assignments covering 34 water and wastewater projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and overall oversight for the BWI program.
• Lead multidisciplinary technical teams delivering assessments, feasibility studies, detailed design, tender support, construction supervision and quality assurance.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USG, the Government of Jordan and key sector stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, approved work plans and USG regulations.
• Manage program budgets, schedules and reporting for four national projects, ten wastewater treatment plants, three water treatment plants and six water supply systems.
• Facilitate capacity‑building activities for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Water Authority of Jordan and water utilities.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience managing large, multi‑year water‑infrastructure programs.
• Proven experience with USG‑funded projects and strong knowledge of Jordan’s water sector.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government agencies, donors and technical partners.
• Strong managerial and administrative competence to oversee complex technical work.
