Civil Site Engineer – Water & Irrigation Projects

About the role

Hussein Atieh & Sons Co. (HAE) is looking for experienced Civil Site Engineers to join its water, irrigation and treated sewage effluent (TSE) projects. You will be responsible for supervising on‑site construction activities, ensuring that all works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily site operations for pipeline works, including excavation, bedding, pipe laying, backfilling, pressure testing and reinstatement.
• Verify line and level, pipe alignment and installation quality before inspections.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for material approvals, testing and documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements and promote safe working practices.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, surveyors and other disciplines to maintain smooth project execution.
• Prepare daily progress reports, site records and quantity measurements.
• Monitor productivity, identify issues and report constraints to the Project Manager.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, as‑built preparation and project handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years on water supply, wastewater, irrigation or TSE projects.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Pipeline construction techniques: excavation, bedding, pipe laying, backfilling, pressure testing, reinstatement.
• Familiarity with ductile iron (DI), HDPE, PVC, fittings and valves.
• Basic knowledge of QA/QC procedures and HSE standards.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, construction and shop drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
