Commis B – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis B to join our kitchen team at Marriott International in Amman. The role involves supporting chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking and ensuring food quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, including cold foods, while adhering to quality, presentation and food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor cooking progress, test food doneness and maintain correct temperatures.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen environment.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies, report any issues and complete required training.
• Communicate professionally with team members and support a collaborative work atmosphere.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• At least one year of experience in a similar food‑service or kitchen role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb throughout the shift.
