Data Center Engineer (OCONUS)

About the role

The Data Center Engineer will support Special Operations communications in an overseas, on‑site environment. The role focuses on enterprise storage management, NetApp solutions, and overall data‑center technology integration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide enterprise‑level overview of storage capabilities, monitor performance metrics, capacity utilization and generate reports.
• Install, configure and maintain NetApp storage systems, including volumes, file systems, LUNs and disaster‑recovery solutions such as SnapMirror and SnapVault.
• Collaborate with customers and system architects to design NetApp storage solutions that meet capacity and performance requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance, software/firmware upgrades, patch installations and performance tuning of NetApp platforms.
• Support VMware vSphere environments, Cisco networking, and hyper‑converged infrastructure, ensuring SLA compliance and optimal virtualization ratios.

Required profile

• High school diploma with 6‑9 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and current U.S. passport and driver’s license.
• Medical/physical fitness for deployment with U.S. Military Forces OCONUS.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including mask, ballistic helmet, body armor and chemical/biological garments.

Required skills

• NetApp storage technologies (FAS, HCI, StorageGRID, SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapCenter, Virtual Storage Console, OnCommand Unified Manager).
• VMware vSphere architecture and vRealize Operations Manager.
• Cisco networking, VMware Compute & Virtualization.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, ITIL, PMP and Agile development methodologies (preferred).
