Field Security Assistant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Field Security Assistant to support mission safety and security operations in Amman, Jordan. Working under the Chief of Mission and the National Security Officer, you will help ensure a secure environment for staff and beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing mission safety and security procedures under guidance from IOM’s Office of Staff Security.
• Support radio communication applications and maintain liaison with local security authorities.
• Monitor local community structures and dynamics to inform security planning.
• Prepare and disseminate security reports, briefings, and incident documentation.
• Contribute to conflict‑resolution and data‑analysis activities related to security incidents.

Required profile

• University degree with at least two years of relevant experience, or high‑school diploma with four years of experience.
• Prior exposure to UN systems or international NGOs is an asset.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, with strong written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
• Knowledge of radio communication applications.
• Basic data‑analysis capabilities.
