Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist

About the role

The Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) Specialist will lead the integration of gender equity and social inclusion across all components of the USAID-funded Jordan Economic Reform Activity. Based in Amman, the specialist will work closely with project teams, ministries, and private‑sector partners to ensure high‑quality GESI training, capacity‑building and monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and strategic oversight for all GESI interventions, revising the GESI strategy in coordination with local and home‑office teams.
• Design, implement and quality‑control GESI training curricula, including workshops, on‑the‑job training, mentoring and coaching.
• Support the tracking and measurement of GESI indicators, ensuring performance targets are met on time and within budget.
• Liaise with ministries, donors, NGOs and private‑sector partners to coordinate GESI activities and integrate GESI considerations into investments and grants.

Required profile

• At least five years of experience in gender equality, women’s empowerment and social inclusion, preferably in Jordan’s economic or business context.
• Demonstrated experience leading multisectoral teams, working with donors and government ministries, and delivering technical assistance on USAID‑funded projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, development or a related field; advanced training or certification in Training‑of‑Trainers is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, with excellent writing ability in both languages.
• Proven ability to develop and manage training curricula and capacity‑building programs.
